How to disable unused Android app permissions using DTEK?
DTEK BlackBerry is an app designed to help you monitor and control the level of security on your BlackBerry mobile device and monitoring how apps access your information
DTEK BlackBerry app lets you see which apps are using features on your device to access your info. Some apps must access your device features to work correctly. Other apps, though, might intentionally access features on your device without your knowledge.
DTEK monitors when an app does any of the following:
- Takes a picture or a video using the camera
- Accesses your device’s calendar
- Reads, creates, edits, or deletes a contact
- Accesses the location of your device
- Sends a text message (SMS or MMS) from your device
- Turns the microphone on or off on your device
- Accesses your device’s contacts
From DTEK you can view the details of when an app used a feature on your device to access your info. You can also view the app’s permissions, stop the app from running, uninstall the app from your device, or set up notifications to monitor future access.
Also you can evaluate the setup of security features on your device including, for example, screen lock, factory reset protection, and remote device management. You can scan your device at any time to check for security improvements. During each scan,
DTEK alsp assigns an overall security rating to your device along with a rating for each of the security features that it monitors. DTEK also performs an automatic scan of your device every week. Once the scan is complete, you can tap the scan notification to open DTEK and view your security ratings.
If a security feature receives a poor or fair rating, DTEK can recommend actions that you can take to improve your security settings and achieve a better rating. You can improve the overall security rating for your device by adjusting the settings of individual security features on your device.

Under Recommendations, you’ll see Unused permissions, then tap it.
Click on the next screen then tap on Details.
In this section, you’ll see a list of events that have taken place on your device. It will show from almost every app installed as they all are using permissions to run. By each, you can see which permissions have not been used and how long it has been since they were accessed.
For each event, you have options that are revealed when you tap on them. You can ‘Turn off permission for this app’ or view ‘Details’.
